Spacious, Comfy, and Perfect for a Jindabyne Getaway
My friends and I had an amazing time staying at this townhouse for the past six nights before the winter season kicks in. The place was spotless, super comfortable, and really well set up. Plus, it’s only a 12-minute walk to the town center, making it a great spot to explore from!
The owner was fantastic—super friendly and easy to communicate with. The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds, especially with their own charging ports for iPads and phones. Every room has a TV, and the main living area has a massive 90-inch smart TV—perfect for movie nights.
With two bathrooms and two toilets, plus brand-new washing and drying machines, everything felt convenient and hassle-free. The open-plan dining, lounge, and kitchen space is beautifully laid out, and there’s a great balcony, garage, and even a backyard where the kids could run around.
A huge thank you to Chalet Mirkom Chalet Mirkom for such a wonderful stay! This place is perfect for families or groups looking for a cosy and enjoyable getaway. We’d love to come back again!

The forecast says… YES! ❄️

With just 3 weeks until opening weekend, both Thredbo and Perisher are expecting 5–10cm of snow early in the week🙌

According to BOM:
📉 Medium chance monday
📈 High chance Wednesday

Pete “The Frog” from Snowwatch is calling for 2–5cm Sunday morning – just enough to fire up the snowguns! 🎯

As our region gears up for the snow season – and our resorts, shops, cafes, and restaurants prepare for visitors – we at Chalet Mirkom are watching the skies closely. 👀

❄️ EARLY SEASON SNOW LIKELY OVERNIGHT ❄️

Winter might be arriving earlier than expected, with a burst of unusually cold polar air forecast to sweep across southeastern Australia late Wednesday into Thursday, bringing the chance of widespread snow showers across parts of NSW 🌨️

The Snowy Mountains and alpine regions are expected to see the biggest snowfall, with snow levels potentially dropping to around 700–800 metres during Thursday. That’s exceptionally low for early May and could allow snow showers and sleet to push beyond the ski fields and into elevated inland towns.

Up to 20cm of snow could accumulate across higher elevations and ski resort areas, giving the mountains their first real taste of winter conditions for 2026 ❄️🏔️

Towns including Orange and Oberon may also see light snow showers, while the higher parts of the Blue Mountains could experience brief flurries if moisture tracks far enough east. For Sydney locals chasing a glimpse of snow, Oberon and the upper Blue Mountains could offer the best chance, although any snowfall outside the alpine regions is expected to be light and short-lived.

Cold, windy and wintry weather is expected right across southern NSW throughout Thursday, with temperatures well below average for this time of year. Drivers heading towards alpine areas are being urged to keep updated with road conditions, as hazardous driving conditions may develop through the day.

For snow lovers, though… this is the kind of forecast everyone waits for 👀

The mountains are waking up, the first flakes are on the radar, and Winter 2026 is officially starting to feel very real. Before long it’ll be first chairlift rides, fresh corduroy mornings, après by the fire and weekends escaping to the Snowies 🔥⛷️🏂

This could be only the beginning…
