There’s been plenty of activity today at the Commercial Hotel, with the new EV Tesla super charging station proving popular over the Easter long weekend ⚡🚗
Even with 10 charging bays available, demand has been strong, with travellers queuing at times to top up before continuing their journey. Since coming online ahead of the Christmas holidays, the site has been consistently busy every holiday period, reflecting the growing number of electric vehicles travelling the Western Highway.
This latest addition brings Kaniva’s total EV charging capacity to 12 stations, including the existing chargers on Madden Street — further strengthening the town’s position as a key stop between Melbourne and Adelaide.
The project has also delivered broader benefits, with upgrades to the local power infrastructure increasing overall capacity and supporting future growth in the area
It’s not just EV travellers making the most of the stop. The Commercial Hotel’s free RV pub camping area has also been busy across Easter and all holiday periods, with visitors choosing to stay, explore the town, and support local businesses 🚐
With more travellers stopping, staying, and spending time in Kaniva, it’s another positive step for local tourism and the broader visitor economy.
