Celebrating 16 Years of Cherratta!

16 years in business… now that’s a lot of stories!
From humble beginnings and plenty of lessons along the way, to the moments that made us laugh, scratch our heads, and occasionally wonder “how did that even happen?” — it’s been quite a ride!

For our latest Cherratta High Five, we’re taking a little trip down memory lane and having a good old chat about the journey so far — where it all began, the moments that have shaped us, and what keeps us excited about what’s ahead.

Sixteen years is a pretty big milestone, and we couldn’t have made it this far without the people who have been part of the Cherratta story along the way.
To our team, clients, guests, suppliers, partners and the wider Pilbara community — thank you for being part of this incredible story.

We’re honoured to be part of Manga-Bura Wellness Camp, a beautiful gathering celebrating strong women and the strength they bring to their communities.

Supporting spaces that place women’s wellbeing at the heart of the experience is something we believe is worth investing in. Caring for their wellbeing helps build healthier, stronger communities — today, and for the generations that follow.

It was a privilege to contribute to a meaningful initiative centred around care, wellbeing and connection.

🔴 Red noses, big smiles and a whole lot of fun!

We might be a little late sharing these, but we couldn’t resist giving the Cherratta crew their moment!

Our team got into the spirit of Red Nose Day with plenty of laughs, playful red noses and a dose of good-natured silliness.

At the heart of this day is an important message: keeping the conversation going about saving little lives and supporting families impacted by the loss of a baby or child.

For us, taking part was a simple way to come together, show our support and help keep this important conversation visible in our community.

Giving Old Linen a New Life.

Thanks to the support of Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara, our old doonas have found a new home with Grateful Remnants, where Suzanne and her students will be giving them a whole new purpose.

From cosy dog beds to other useful creations, the doonas will be transformed into something new — keeping materials out of landfill while providing students with an opportunity to learn new skills along the way.

A big thank you to Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara for connecting us with Suzanne and Grateful Remnants, and for helping coordinate the collection.

Here’s to finding new ways to reuse, repurpose and make a difference. ♻️

Pink Round is always a great reminder of what community sport is really about, and we were pleased to partner with Karratha Netball Association this year.

It was fantastic to see the courts filled with kids, families and volunteers all getting behind such an important cause.

Community organisations like Karratha Netball are made possible by so many people giving their time, energy and support behind the scenes. It’s great to see the community come together to support this wonderful event.

Cherratta Lodge is proud to once again support our local community as a sponsor of the WA Police Legacy Karratha to Broome Bike Ride 2026!

This incredible event sees riders take on a challenging journey of approximately 840–900 kilometres from Karratha to Broome, raising vital funds and awareness for WA Police Legacy Inc. and the families of fallen or incapacitated police officers.

As part of our support, the Cherratta Lodge team prepared 140 meals for the riders and support crew, helping keep everyone fuelled throughout their journey. It’s a fantastic cause that brings together police, local businesses and the wider community, and we’re incredibly proud to play our part in supporting such a worthwhile event.

Our team had an amazing time at the Karlayura Rodeo, enjoying an action-packed day filled with rodeo, entertainment and plenty of community spirit.

We recently welcomed participants from the Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd and Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara to Cherratta Lodge for our Employment Opportunities Open Day.

The event was designed to support Aboriginal people preparing to enter or re-enter the workforce, giving participants the opportunity to tour our facilities, meet our team, and learn more about the traineeship and employment pathways available at Cherratta Lodge.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and to the WY Program for supporting this initiative. We look forward to continuing to create meaningful employment opportunities and welcoming future trainees to the Cherratta team.
