An evening of music, movement and a little magic at The Metropole.

On Friday 13 November, the historic walls of The Metropole will come alive with the captivating sounds of Devi Mamak and the Caravan Band.

Blending classical, jazz and world music, this extraordinary ensemble brings together rich melodies, intricate rhythms and original compositions that transport audiences somewhere wonderfully unexpected.

Led by acclaimed pianist, composer and world fusion belly dancer Devi Mamak, the evening will also feature mesmerising live dance performances by Jrisi Jusakos, bringing the music to life through movement.

Settle into the timeless surrounds of our beautiful guest house for an evening that promises to stir the senses.

Why not make a night of it? Arrive from 5pm to enjoy a meal and a drink before the performance begins.

Every Monday evening, the heritage surrounds of The Metropole become a space for artists, curious beginners and creative souls to gather for our weekly Life Drawing sessions.

Whether you're rediscovering an old passion or picking up a pencil for the very first time, there's a place for you here.

What a wonderfully wicked Halloween at The Metropole!

Despite the rain, more than 200 ghosts, ghouls, witches, wizards and wonderfully dressed visitors braved the weather to wander the historic halls of our hotel tonight.

From little monsters to spectacularly spooky families, the creativity and effort that went into everyone’s costumes was truly something to behold!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, dressed up, explored our haunted halls and helped bring a little Halloween magic to The Metropole. Seeing so many families enjoying themselves within our historic walls made the evening all the more special.

We’ve loved welcoming our local community through our doors, and we’re already dreaming up what next year might bring.

Halloween at The Metropole will return in 2027, bigger, better and perhaps just a little more haunting!

A frightfully fabulous display of Halloween spirit!

Congratulations to the winners of our Best Dressed Competition at The Metropole’s Halloween celebration!

Our lucky winners took home some fantastic prize packs featuring artwork prints from Kell 'n Karl.

With Halloween festivities taking over The Metropole tomorrow evening, we're pleased to say our regular Saturday backgammon afternoon will still be going ahead!

There's something rather lovely about whiling away an afternoon over a game of backgammon, especially within the (spooky) timeless surrounds of The Metropole.

Whether you're a seasoned player or simply curious to learn, pull up a chair and enjoy a little friendly competition before the ghosts and ghouls arrive.
