Camping weather is here and that means lots of families are travelling the Eyre Highway!

If you’re coming our way – to the Gawler Ranges or the West Coast beaches or starting your big lap - you can head on over to the link in our bio to book yourself a couple of nights of good rest at Olive House 😊

Take care on the road and don’t forget to visit all the little towns on the way - we’ll all love seeing you!

I’m Hannah (and that’s my husband Tom) and we’re farmers on the Eyre Peninsula – you can see us here in our natural habitat, a woolshed!

We have two little girls and a baby on the way, and in our spare time (😉) we’re your hosts at Olive House.

I love living and working on the Eyre Peninsula, and I love sharing my hometown with guests. Whether they’re here for a holiday, for work, or just passing through on their travels, I love that they always uncover a little more than they expected during their stay in Kimba.

Olive House had a little makeover recently. She was always pretty nice to look at, but with a fresh coat of paint she’s now positively sparkling!

Swipe for a front door before and after, and let me know what you think 🤔

We love a good wedding here at Olive House!

There’s a true sense of privilege that comes with hosting wedding parties, of Olive House bearing witness to the special events that make a community.

Nick and Lexie got hitched back in October, and Lexie and her girls chose Olive House for their big day preparations. Looks pretty fun, right? 🥂

We don’t often share photos of things like washing machines here – it doesn’t feel that insta-worthy - but let’s face it, when you’re travelling sometimes a good place to wash your whites is just what you need.

You can find all sorts of accommodation as you cross the Nullarbor, and our guests always tell us how much of a treat it is to roll into Olive House after long days on the road.

Sometimes a little space is just what the doctor ordered. Space to stretch your body out after sitting behind the wheel for hours. Space to prepare your own food after a few days of roadhouse chips (but also a really short walk to our wonderful local pub for a counter meal). Space to do your washing and hang it on an actual clothesline.

It’s funny the little things you miss when you’re on the road. Luckily all of those little things are taken care of at Olive House!

A sure sign that you’re in Kimba!

We’re loving this great new signage around our little town, encouraging everyone to … when you see this sign, you know you’re in for a treat.

The highway is long and it’s tempting just to keep rolling, but there’s a thousand reasons to detour just a few metres into Kimba. We can’t wait to see you!
