Lisdillon is an historic east coast property which was first surveyed by the owners' ancestor in 1830. Although it has been a sheep farm for many years they have recently taken the leap into viticulture, opening up an exciting new chapter in the history of the property. Lisdillon is a beautiful property with 5km of private coastline and heritage listed buildings. The farm has four airbnbs where you can stay and bask in the magical and calming scenery of the property. Lisdillon Estate is located 21 kilometres south of Swansea on the East Coast of Tasmania. It is situated next to the sea where its cooling winds help moderate the typically dry climate to produce this excellent cool climate pinot noir and sauvignon blanc. The morning walk at Lisdillon Estate.

A short stroll from our historic cottages, down to the river and this private beach. With views stretching from Freycinet to Maria Island, on Tasmania’s East Coast.

A daily ritual that our farm dog, Rocco, never gets tired of.

Through the beach gate, and along the path to where the river opens out into Great Oyster Bay.

The moving tides and morning light make for ever-changing views.

You can walk for kilometres along our coastline, but some mornings we linger at this spot, where the birds and river and reflections are enough to keep us here a little longer.

The Coach House at Lisdillon.

We’ve just refreshed and reopened its beach-facing wing, adding a third king bedroom, a second bathroom with a bath overlooking Great Oyster Bay, and a sitting room looking out towards the water.

Set above the Lisdillon River, with the beach, coastline and 6000-acre farm just beyond the door.

Now sleeping up to six.

A few dates are still available these school holidays. Come and stay this spring.

What is Lisdillon?

6,000 acres on Tasmania’s east coast. Old stone cottages, secluded beaches, a working sheep farm and vineyard, and four kilometres of private coastline along Great Oyster Bay.

Six cottages set across the estate, each overlooking the water, sleeping 2–6 guests, or up to 25 in total.

Stay at the heritage-listed Blacksmith’s Cottage, built in the 1830s from local rubble stone. Sleeps 4 in old stone comfort.

Wake early for coffee on the deck to take in the sunrise, as the glow emerges from behind the Freycinet Peninsula.

Or start the day gently, and watch from your bed. With views out to the Lisdillon river.

When you’re ready, head outdoors to experience the estate. Wander down to the river, just beyond the cottage. Follow the the river to reach Lisdillon’s beaches and kilometres of private coastline.

Later, head back to the cottage for a quiet night in.
