Fencing at Lenswood by the smaller group last Thursday. Neal had rammed the posts previously. Lots of boxes at corners and bends ready for the mesh and wire this coming week.
Thanks to Stewart for the photos.

Fencing has resumed! Two very small groups have been out on very different jobs - one building traditional farm fence & the other a tight squeeze to dismantle then erect a new colourbond job - Stewart was the photographer so only one photo of him.

A hobby job on the side for one of our fencers during the winter break. Russell has done a masterful job - foundation then following the fiddly but technically precise directions to erect a kit greenhouse for Lou (me). Today he topped the project off by grouting the ramp bricks which he laid a few days ago.
There are not enough superlative words to describe the finished job but brilliant, exciting, wonderful, & magic will do to make a public acknowledgement of Russell's skill and attention to detail. I am absolutely thrilled & learned much by watching & asking questions and acting as a first day apprentice.

The STV One & All returned from its five day trip for young people sponsored by various District 9510 clubs. The RCO student, Layla, had a really wonderful experience and was looking forward to telling her Mum all about it on the hour trip home.
Layla will be a guest speaker for the Club in the next few weeks.
As a small bonus family members & welcoming Rotarians were invited to have a quick look at the innards of the ship.

A bitterly cold wind did not dampen the enthusiasm of the twenty-five 15-18 year olds who gathered at Dock 2, Port Adelaide, where they were put into watches, met the other sailors and the watch crew who will mentor them over the next five days. By 9:30 a.m. the STV One & All had set off, under diesel power, until it left the Port River when sails will be unfurled.
The RCO has sponsored a Year 10 girl, Layla, & as is the tradition of the Club, Gordon presented her with a pair of yachting gloves on the wharf.
While she is very excited so is her mother who was seen doing a couple of happy skips & jumps on the wharf as the sailors embarked.

A day out on the wood stack. Today the last of the wood at one of the piles was cut and the last little bits tidied up to the group's very high standard.
A small fire was lit for a bbq but Kathy had brought her mini Weber which was used instead.
There won't be any further wood days as it will be fire season very soon.
Thanks to Stewart for the photos.

A RC Onkaparinga project from a long time ago when Keith Shaw was District Governor in 1991. The Adelaide Hills Council does the maintenance now and staff have done a hard prune of the roses which will take over from the camellias. The camellias are looking stunning in their maturity and the rotunda and benches are quietly shielded from the traffic along the main road. It's a wonderful little park on the southern end of the Council building/library.

On a bitterly cold day the fencing group convened at Shed 31 for a trailer and shed tidy up before an enhanced sausage sizzle. Apparently it was very cold in the shed - sun never peeks in - and everyone wore hats all day.
