If these walls could talk, they’d have more than a century of Burge family stories to tell.

At the end of the First World War, Percival Norman Burge built the Wilsford winery and homestead in the southern Barossa, beginning a chapter of family history that continues here today.

Percival’s son Colin followed, and Wilsford is now owned by fifth and sixth generation members of the Burge family.

The old winery pictured here remains very much part of that story. Rather than standing as a monument to what once was, today it serves as the family’s fortified wine store — quietly continuing the connection between Wilsford, the Burge family and Barossa wine.

It’s this living heritage that makes a stay at Wilsford House something a little different. You’re not simply visiting the Barossa; you’re staying within a family property whose story has unfolded alongside it for generations.

More than a homestead. More than a century of family, wine and Barossa history.

Some homes become part of the landscape.

Wilsford House is one of them.

Surrounded by vineyards and sheltered beneath magnificent old trees, this historic homestead has welcomed generations to experience the slower rhythm of life in the southern Barossa.

While every guest arrives with a different reason to visit—celebrating, reconnecting, exploring or simply unwinding—the feeling remains much the same. It's a place where conversations linger over long lunches, afternoons drift into evenings, and the beauty of the Barossa is never far away.

As custodians of Wilsford House, we're proud to continue sharing its story while helping our guests discover the people, places and produce that make this region so special.

There are some traditions that simply belong in the Barossa.

A good coffee. A famous Barossa Honey Biscuit. And nowhere you need to be in a hurry.

It's these small moments that often become the ones guests remember most—the quiet start to the day before setting off to explore cellar doors, country roads and local villages, or choosing to linger a little longer beneath the trees.

However you're spending your Sunday morning, we hope there's time to slow down and savour it.
