A 37-year-old Perth man was seen stopping his vehicle 200m before our roadside checkpoint at Cape Naturaliste to offload a bag of 89 shucked abalone into nearby bush. Smooth 😎

The man and his mate were ordered to collectively pay more than $6,000 in fines in Busselton Court on Tuesday.

🪣The daily bag limit for Roe’s abalone in the Southern Zone is 20 per person per day.
🦪 Abalone must be landed whole and kept in the shell until more than 200m inland.
🪪 Fishing for Roe’s abalone in the Southern Zone is closed until 1 Oct. You need an abalone fishing licence when the season opens.
