If you’re thinking about a Mansfield getaway for the Grand Final long weekend, now’s a good time to start making a few plans.

With the school holidays underway, Mansfield is a great base for a few days of fresh air, good food and plenty to see and do.

Put them all to work at 90's Trivia Friday for the Mansfield Secondary College fundraiser. Round up your team, book a table and grab some dinner before the questions begin.

Bragging rights are on the line, so choose your teammates carefully. Only a handful of tickets left!

IT'S THAT TIME!
Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner - it's time to make a community effort (again) to reduce the wasps.

No queen = no nest
No nest = no pest.

Catching queens is the most cost effective, environmentally sound method of reducing European wasps. We need to get our Queen traps out now - September October & November.

TRAP
📌Use a Milk, OJ or soft drink bottle (any size)
📌Punch 3 x 12 mm holes, 2/3rds of the way up the bottle and leave the lid on.
1 trap is ok but many traps are much better
BAIT
👉Dissolve 500G sugar into 1 litre warm/hot water from tap.
👉Add 2 tsp powder Yeast and then add 2 tablespoons of white (or c***r) vinegar.

Allow to stand indoors at least 48 hours (or more) until fermented. Time until fermented will depend on room temperature (Best temp is constant 20c for 48 hours). Allow more time if temps are lower.

Bubbles will appear on the side of containers. Foam or “scum” appears on the surface and it will smell sour. Leave the lid off until ferment is complete.

👉 Add 2 drops of dishwashing Liquid AFTER FERMENTATION is complete on day Fill the trap to between 5 and 10 cm below the holes.

You WILL need to top up or renew mix weekly due to evaporation.
Hang it in a sunny spot in your garden. Check it every 7 days or so - and kill the queens!

**Use 4 traps for the average house block
