A Great Southern day trip from Betty’s Beach House

Staying at Betty’s Beach House? Add Castle Rock and the Granite Skywalk to your itinerary.

Located in Porongurup National Park, and only 56km from Betty’s, Castle Rock offers a 4.4km return walk through beautiful jarrah, marri and karri forest, finishing at the spectacular Granite Skywalk.

Along the way, look out for the impressive Balancing Rock before making your way to the skywalk and its incredible views across the Porongurup ranges and surrounding farmland.

It’s a little adventure well worth adding to your stay at Betty’s Beach House.

5.45am at our coastal farm stay near Albany WA, and the sky did most of the talking.

Mount Manypeaks on one side, the ocean glowing gold on the other. A coffee in hand, nowhere else to be.
We're not sure what the secret to happiness is either, but we've got a pretty good guess.

And if you're thinking it might be time for a little getaway, couples can enjoy a special discounted nightly rate throughout October and November 2026.

Spring is one of the most beautiful times to visit the Great Southern, and Betty’s Beach House in Manypeaks is the perfect place to make the most of it.

With wildflowers popping up across the region, there’s plenty to discover on the drive, along walking trails and throughout the surrounding bushland.

And if you love wildflowers, be sure to make time for the Albany Wildflower Show. Running for more than 50 years, the show brings together more than 500 individually labelled specimens, along with beautiful displays of local fungi, banksia and carnivorous plants.

Even better, Betty’s Beach House is just 30 minutes from Albany, making it an easy and peaceful base for exploring the wildflowers and enjoying the show.

The 2026 Albany Wildflower Show runs from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 27 September, with funds raised supporting the work of the local wildflower society.

Spend the day discovering the colours of spring, then come home to the peace and space of Betty’s Beach House.
