Still hunting Rabbit in the vege patch 🐇🐇, so this year we are using net in the garden...
Pros : food is growing/ pest control
small windbreak / protect from heavy rain and heavy sun
Cons : can't see vege /difficult to access/ block access to flower to birds and beneficial insects/ not pretty !!

So yes we are working on the rabbit hunting/fencing. ...tbc...😝

The sweet potatoes are out !
In the past we used to leave them in the ground like a pantry and harvest only when needed. Last winter was so much rain that we lost some to rot. With a wet and saturated soil in the lower areas and with the number of ratus ratus around, we decided to harvest the lot... they are now in our living room for up to 10 days curing in our warm house 25°c ish, then we will move the best looking (no holes, cracks or darkspots) to a colder( 12°c ish )and darker room .They should then last up to 6 months 🤞🤞🤞
Note: do not wash potatoes after harvest, leave the soil on for curing and after curing when the skin hardens brush away delicately the remaining soil before storage.

Little guy, we thought we’d lost him and were ready to say goodbye after 33 years of giving his heart to children. Amazing what a good drench can do! After a little snooze he bounced back and seems happier than ever. Thanks Lili for your late night care
