Fireplace update - absolutely loving it … Just in time for summer 😂

11/07/2026

After travelling 20,000+ km from Béthune, France to Marion Bay, South Australia, our Cheminées Philippe fireplace has officially arrived.
Turns out getting it halfway around the world was the easy part…
Now comes the final metre onto the hearth, using Simon’s completely over-engineered Fireplace Transfer Unit™. Equal parts engineering marvel, science experiment, and “she’ll be right.”

Out: mystery tiles, awkward mirrors and a vibe best described as 1982 rental chic.
In: fresh, functional and somewhere you actually want to spend more than 37 seconds.

Bathroom renovation complete. Proof that a little vision (and a lot of dust) goes a long way.

Before ➡️ After.
