It would be wonderful to stand on Mera Peak as a group of Pest managers on International Parkinson’s Day and be the highest group from our industry doing something huge for Parkinson’s research.

A tough few months. A lesson worth sharing.

My battle with pneumonia has been a difficult one — and it’s reinforced how important it is to protect yourself when working around birds.

My message to the industry: Wear your P95 mask when working around bird droppings, feathers and nesting material.

Look after yourself. Take the risks seriously.

The expedition may have been postponed, but the challenge continues.

PEST BIRD DISEASES: SALMONELLOSIS
