There are tiles, and then there are heritage tiles. The beautiful tile work in the Grand Hotel foyer is marked by ornate and intricate designs, common in the Victorian period (1837-1901), where tiles often featured geometric patterns and natural motifs. More can be learned from Melbourne tiler, Michael Hathaway, who also worked important heritage buildings such as Abbotsford Convent.

We are so fortunate to have such treasures literally on our doorstep.
