A very special goodbye from Horseshoe Top-End ❤️

After twenty wonderful years of welcoming guests to Horseshoe Top-End, we have made the decision to retire and close our tourism business at the end of this month.

Since 2006, we have had the privilege of sharing our accommodation, campsites, 4WD tracks and beautiful part of Horseshoe Range with so many lovely people. What started as a new adventure for us has become a very special chapter in our lives.

To all of our guests – thank you. ❤️ Thank you for choosing to stay with us, for sharing your stories, for enjoying our beautiful backyard and for the many laughs, conversations and friendships along the way. We have so many wonderful memories to take with us, especially of fun times at Longview Lookout, keeping warm by Jim’s fire while watching some beautiful sunsets and enjoying a few wines and nibbles. 🔥🌅🥂🍷🧀

We would also like to say a very big thank you to Station Stays SA – an amazing group of people who are passionate about sharing the Flinders Ranges and Outback with visitors. We have been very lucky and proud to be part of this wonderful group. Thank you to all the members for your friendship, encouragement and support, and especially to the amazing people who lead and support the group and give so much of their time to help us all.

It is certainly a bittersweet time for us. We will miss seeing our regular guests, meeting new people and sharing our back yard with visitors from near and far. But after twenty busy and rewarding years, we feel that the time has come for us to slow down a little and take life a bit easier – while still enjoying the privilege of living in this beautiful part of the world.

We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received and for the memories we have made along the way.

Thank you for being part of our Horseshoe Top-End journey. It has been an absolute pleasure sharing our little corner of the Flinders Ranges with you.

One of the best things about travelling through regional South Australia is the freedom to explore at your own pace — but when it comes to staying on a working station, a little planning goes a long way.

Our Station Stays SA properties are unique, remote and often have limited accommodation and camping sites. With growing demand, many properties are now booking out well ahead, particularly during school holidays and long weekends. Contact the station in advance and secure your spot.

By booking ahead, you can:

It was wonderful to have Anne Brown, Vegetation Consultant, back at Horseshoe Top-End this week. 🌿💚

Anne has been such a major influence on the conservation work we’ve undertaken here over the past 25 years, sharing her incredible knowledge, experience and passion for native vegetation along the way.

This visit was particularly special — getting to see the amazing volume of native plants flourishing after all the wonderful rain. And it was pretty hard to wipe the smile off Anne’s face! 😊🌱

Thank you so much, Anne, for all the time, knowledge and encouragement you’ve shared with us over the years. We’re incredibly grateful for your ongoing influence and friendship. 🌿💚
