Our Working Cattle Training Days with Daniel Gorman are coming up at Montrose Arena on 17 & 18 October, and we’ve had a few spots become available.

This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get themselves or their horse started on cattle, or simply spend some quality time working on a few things with some guidance from Daniel.

Whether you’re new to cattle or looking to improve and refine what you’re already doing, this will be a relaxed, supportive couple of days with plenty of opportunity to learn and have a go.

Sam Fawcett Equine Therapies will be at Montrose on Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th October, with appointments available.

CATTLE WORKING TRAINING DAYS

A relaxed opportunity to get your horse out on good quality cattle and work on whatever you and your horse need.

• It might be your first time working cattle

• You have a green or young horse that needs an introduction to cattle

• You want to improve your timing and position on a cow

• You’d like the opportunity to correct, school and develop your horse in a training environment

• Or you simply want some good practice on sensible, quality cattle

Daniel Gorman Horsemanship will be with us. Daniel will spend time with each horse and rider, getting to know where you’re at, what you’d like to improve and what you’d like to achieve.

Drawing on his knowledge and experience, Daniel will guide you through whatever you want to work on, helping you get the most out of your time on cattle and making the day relevant to you and your horse.

▪︎▪︎▪︎ NOT DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC ▪︎▪︎▪︎ Whether you are an aspiring Campdrafter, Team Penner, Reined Cow Horser or any of the western performance disciplines or maybe you are keen to learn about this side of the equine world, come along and have some fun!

There’s no set program and no particular level you need to be at.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

A group has had to cancel their planned eventthat was pencilled in at Montrose, which means 17 & 18 October is now available, so we thought, why not ask you guys what you’d love to do with the weekend?

Would you be keen for…

● A weekend clinic — bring your horse, learn something new, improve your skills and spend the weekend riding with a great clinician. And if there’s someone you’d love to learn from, tell us who!

● A working cattle weekend — plenty of cows, plenty of riding and plenty of opportunity to get your horse (and yourself!) working cattle in a relaxed environment.

● A private lesson weekend — want some one-on-one time? We could bring in a trainer and offer individual lessons so you can really focus on you and your horse. And again, tell us who you’d like to learn from!

● An open arena weekend — just come and ride! Bring your horse, have a play on the mechanical cow, work on your own training and enjoy making the most of the arena.

● A focused training weekend — come and stay with a group of like-minded people, ride together and choose what you want to work on. A chance to get away, concentrate on your horse and head home feeling like you’ve achieved something.

📸 A little late, but definitely worth the wait!

We’ve been a bit slow getting these photos from the North West Cow Horse Show in Quirindi posted… mostly because choosing which photos to purchase was WAY too hard!

Emma Fiddler Photography did such an amazing job capturing the horses, the action and all those little moments throughout the show. There were far too many good ones to choose from!

So, here are a few of the ones we finally managed to narrow it down to.
