We're back at the Moora Historical Society Museum and this time, we're heading outside for some more exhibits! 🌿

Part 3 of our museum series takes you through the outdoor exhibits, including some fascinating educational and war memorabilia that tell the story of our region in a way you really have to see to appreciate.

If parts 1 and 2 surprised you, part 3 won't disappoint. There's more history out there than most people realise, and it's all sitting right here in Moora, waiting to be explored.

And don't forget - the museum is open every Sunday (May-October), 9:00am – 2:00pm. Entry is just $5, which includes a tea or coffee and a scone with jam and cream. Cash only please if you can! β˜•πŸž

Come down tomorrow and see it for yourself.

You bought the scooter. That means the responsibility starts with you.

We're not here to lecture anyone, but if your child is riding an eScooter around Moora without a helmet, under the age of 16, doubling up with a mate, or pulling stunts - that's on the adults who handed them the scooter.

Before your kids head out on their eScooter, make sure they know the rules:

βœ… Helmet on. Every single time.
βœ… Must be 16 or over to ride
βœ… One rider only
βœ… No faster than 10km/h on footpaths
βœ… No stunts or wheelies

Local Police are actively speaking with riders they see breaking these rules. Don't let your child be one of them.

If they won't follow the rules, the scooter stays home. Simple as that.

On what felt like the coldest day of the year, we were proud to be nominated by St John WA - Moora to take on the Fight MND DIY Big Freeze - raising funds for those living with Motor Neurone Disease. It's a cause close to many hearts, so we didn't hesitate.

Big shout out to Sai, Jenna, Pat, Nerea and Leigh for putting their hands up as soon as we asked them to take part! πŸ₯Ά And yes, we can confirm that as far as Perth heard their screams 🀣

If you haven't personally taken part in an ice bucket challenge but would like to chip in, every donation makes a real difference - you can find our fundraising page below:

https://support.fightmnd.org.au/fundraisers/shireofmoora

And now, in true ice bucket fashion, we're passing the torch - or rather, the bucket 🧊

We nominate:

Tilt Renewables
Watheroo Station Tavern WA
Community Bank Bullsbrook-Ellenbrook
Purser's Gourmet Butchers

It's a great chance to catch up with fellow farmers and locals, enjoy a feed and a drink, and hear from guest speaker Jo Ashworth, local Rural Aid councillor, on the support available to farming families across our region.
