How to help turtles during Moore Park Beach nesting season | Queensland

Turtles need dark beaches. House and street lights on the beachfront, or the ambient glow thrown up when your house is 4 streets back, disorientate or prevent turtles from landing on our shores. During the breeding season (mid Oct to April) you can help by cutting the glow of lights. Wherever you are in MPB, lights should be dimmed or switched off wherever possible.
* Switch off unnecessary lights
* Close curtains and blinds
* Use motion sensor lights for external lighting
* Position lights to face away from the beach
* Plant vegetation to create a buffer
* Do not use torches on the beach at night
* No 4WDs on the beach from dusk to dawn from 1 Nov.
