Thanks for all the care coming our way for Raj ❤️. It’s been beautiful Morpeth.

We will continue to leave donation buckets at the bar and bistro AND the Raworth Rabbitohs have confirmed they will be donating all profits from this coming Friday night’s raffles to Raj. What a club. ALWAYS there for community.

To our Morpeth community,

Our much loved and incredibly valued chef and friend Raj, is currently in Nepal as a result of the devastating recent floods that have hit the area.

We have just received news he is now faced with the unimaginable horror of having lost his family members. Our hearts are heavy with this news and want Raj to know that his Morpeth community is with him, and that he is surrounded by care and support.

We will be placing donation buckets at the bar and the bistro, and if you are in a position to contribute, we invite you to join us to raise some funds to support Raj and his Nepalese community, during this deeply difficult time.

I also want to express how warmed we have been by the help of our chef friends, who in a heartbeat have jumped in to help our kitchen team whilst Raj has been away. Knowing their already busy workloads and commitments, it’s heartwarming stuff. Community is everything, and we’ve got a real good one. 🖤

This Thursday, our pasta specials look a little like this!.. fennel, pork and rigatoni ragu.. salmon and thyme linguine in garlic and white w**e sauce with lemon zest

And already thinking of our Son of a Bull Pinot Noir (gosh it's lovely) with the Ragu and the Em's Table Riesling (snappy divineness i cannot get enough) to pair with the Linguine.

That was huge! 🖤

This weekend at The Commercial was a BIG one — functions, celebrations, parties and get-togethers happening in every area of the hotel, from go to woe.

Thank you all deeply for continuing to fill this place with life!

To those who joined us yesterday and experienced longer wait times than you should have — I’m genuinely sorry. Our wish is for every person who walks through our doors to have a great experience. We’re listening and learning, and working hard to make sure we can deliver when the place is this busy. Heartfelt thanks to our team that dug deep.

Which leads me to…. We’re building our TEAM so we’re ready for everything that’s coming - so, EXPERIENCED HOSPO STAFF, I want you!
