🍄 the fungi is calling, and I cannot resist hear🔍 📷

I'm always hunting for those perfect spots where the light filters through the mist and trees, hitting the forest floor just right.

That's where I can use the natural light to show off these little characters. Look at them, they are so cute, almost cartoonish, aren't they?

I've got heaps more fungi shots coming, so make sure you're following along. Trust me, you won't want to miss them. 🍄✨**

😃

Come fungi hunting already!!

When you WANT to chase the winter blues!

Our oldest daughter is visiting from Sydney. She loves to get her forest time in when she comes home - She escapes the concrete and I see her smile return. She was 9 when we moved into Mt Field National Park and we spent many days fungi hunting!

"I forgot how magical this place is." It's a common phrase I hear all the time, and something I feel as every season changes - especially when fungi time comes back around!

The fungi are EVERYWHERE right now (seriously, we found about a million different types today and I'm going to be boring you all with them for weeks 😂).

If you're feeling a bit blah about winter, come find your magic and chase the winter blues too. Take advantage of our stay 3, pay 2 offer and really get some forest time in.

If you're lucky to catch Rachel, she is only too happy to give you some fungi hunting tips🍄

I especially love finding it through the Retreat right now, so much fun! I thought one of these was a mandarin peel 😆

Walk into the rainforest. Ancient ferns tower above you. Moss-covered trees. Dappled light. The smell of earth and the rainforest.

You're not just walking through—you're walking *into* something wild.

Let the forest find you.

Alpine peaks. Pristine snow. The kind of silence that is welcome in a busy world.

This is winter in Mt Field—dramatic, untamed, breathtaking. The best part, many walks don't need a mountaineer's resume to get here.

The views are world-class and the experience will remain with you long after you finish your hike.

Then descend to your warm pod, hot shower and hot drink waiting. You've earned it.

Expect the unexpected. 🦕

Mt Field National Park is a living fossil—ancient landscapes that have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years. When you step into these ancient moorlands and rainforests, you're walking through a world that is steeped in history and story.

Ok, so maybe the dinosaur was taking it a little too far, but this is the kind of place with timeless beauty that takes your breath away. It is the kind of place that will help you create your own story (we are living proof of that)

Step back in time with us this not just to rediscover the wild heart of Tasmania, but to embrace the magic of the unexpected—the moments that make you smile, the discoveries that take your breath away, and the stories you'll tell for years to come.
