This week I had a few nights at Little Norma with our dog Evie, which was really nice because it had been a couple of months since I'd stayed. The nights were a bit rainy but there was plenty of beautiful beach walking weather during the days. 

To celebrate the impending arrival of winter I've just gone onto Airbnb and reduced all winter nights at Little Norma by 30%! So if you've been thinking about a stay at Little Norma, this is the time to treat yourself 🥰

Here's what you can expect from your stay at Little Norma over winter (photos are from my stay this week):

1 - Evie in Little Norma's fully fenced backyard. Normanville is made for dogs. And by the way, your dog deserves a holiday!

2 and 3 - beach therapy on Tuesday 

4 - POV: you just arrived at Normanville Foreshore 

5 - Normanville Jetty - she's little but isn't she lovely? 

6 and 7 - Normanville’s secret beach path at sunset

8 - Jetty Rd with all its Moreton Bay Fig trees at sunset. Sound up for the birds 🦜

Normanville Beach was looking so pretty last night. The arrival of winter just means you don't need to wait so long into the evening to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Because of its position - tucked away in the Gulf St Vincent and sheltered from the southern ocean by Kangaroo Island - Normanville Beach is usually a calm beach, which isn't great news if you're a surfer, but it's perfect if you enjoy beach walks across all seasons, or even a dip in the healing water. It's what made me fall in love with this beach when we first holidayed here with our young kids over a decade ago now.

Normanville Beach is just an easy five minute stroll from Little Norma, and best of all, it's just an hour's drive from Adelaide.

We stopped here on the drive home from Little Norma and nearly didn't leave.

Berg Herring is a cellar door in a converted 1862 stone church at Sellicks Beach — about halfway between Normanville and Adelaide.

You can taste wine inside a repurposed barrel with a stained glass window. There's a piano skeleton in the garden that's become a sculpture.

The views are sweeping, the wine is delicious, and nobody is rushing you anywhere.

It's the perfect last stop on your way home from your Normanville getaway.

We get asked a lot: "What's the drive like?"

Honestly it's one of our favourite parts. You leave the city behind, cruise past the vines of McLaren Vale, wind through the Myponga hills, and then the sea just appears on the horizon and something in you exhales.

About an hour from Adelaide, and worth every minute.
