Some projects take a little longer than others… and this one deserved every bit of that time.

We’re incredibly proud to introduce Joan Harding’s Tomato Relish.

Joan was a long-time friend and mentor to Gareth, making this release a deeply personal one for us. A revered midwife, talented botanical artist, and much-loved member of our community, Joan touched the lives of countless people throughout the district.

From the beginning, it was important that this tribute remained local. We’re honoured to feature Joan’s own botanical artwork as part of the label design, allowing a small piece of her creativity to live on in every jar.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Nathalia Printers for helping bring this vision to life through the design and printing of these beautiful labels.

More than just a relish, this jar tells a story of friendship, community, creativity, and legacy.

Were sure Joan would have approved. ❤️

Over the past few weeks we’ve been putting together something we’ve wanted to create for a long time.

A practical guide to growing Dahlias. With so many already out I thought do we need another, but then I thought learning is a collaboration of learnings from all avenues of experience - this is ours.

So here it is - No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just the things we’ve learnt growing hundreds of varieties here on the farm — from planting and feeding through to storing tubers, seed saving, pest management and avoiding some of the common mistakes we’ve made ourselves.

Best still it’s FREE!

We’ve always believed that knowledge is meant to be shared. The Dahlia community grows stronger when growers help growers, swap ideas and learn from one another. If we’re fortunate, the income follows the passion.

So grab a cuppa - jump on to our website www.oldecreamery.com.au & simply join our email list and we’ll send a copy straight to your inbox.

If it helps you or someone else you know tag them or share this post as a thanks x

LOCALS - Our flower paddocks are having a well-earned winter rest, but we know many of you still love having fresh flowers in your home.

Over winter we can source beautiful locally grown blooms and foliage from growers within our region, however it’s not cost-effective for us to bring flowers in unless we know they’re going to homes.

So we’re thinking of creating a simple “Flower Collective”.

💐 Seasonal bunches – $30
📍 Collect @ Casual Step or Three Belles Collective
💰 Pay in store or direct (Numurkah)
🚗 Free Numurkah delivery available
🌿 Supporting local growers, Casual Step, Three Belles and The Olde Creamery

The idea is simple. Each Monday we’ll send a quick SMS to those on “the list” asking who’s interested for that week. Reply YES and your delivery preference and we’ll order accordingly for Wednesday collection or delivery.

To make it worthwhile, we need a minimum of 3 bunches each week. We will have additionally bunches in stores where possible/viable. If you have a special occasion please contact us in advance 🙂

We’re all feeling the pinch a little at the moment, so having a system like this helps us reduce waste, support other local businesses and growers, and keep flowers available in our community right through winter.

Interested? Send us a DM and we’ll add you to the “Flower Collective”

No commitment, no subscription—just a simple text each week and you decide if you’d like flowers that week or not. 🌿💐

Note: There will be no flowers the week of 15th June as we will be away.

Thanks Jamie

Working on a little project for the Dahlia Society of NSW & ACT hosted national Dahlia conference which we are co-presenting at in a number of areas. The workshop around socials, websites and business feels right up my street at the moment. Would our community here like to see more education from us about how we run a micro flower farm? The “boring stuff” of books, costings, etc…just a thought drop us a comment. Being sustainable in business also means you ensuring your able to in business for the next season.
