We’ve been rather quiet on the ‘regular posting on Instagram’ side of business and you know what, it’s been nice. So friggen nice. One less thing on the mental load list and more free time.

As a small family business, we have other jobs, young kids, and we also lost our cleaner recently. Although the retreat is incredibly special to us and to our guests, it’s hard to juggle all the balls.

Long story short, the good news is we have an amazing new cleaner and although I won’t be back to regular posting, I wanted to let you know about our winter special!

We know that a simple sunset isn’t going to solve all your problems…but just for a moment let’s pretend.

It’s just you, the sunset and maybe a special someone/somebodies and this event that happens every single day.

Sometimes it goes unnoticed. But it’s always there being absolutely magical just incase some who might glance its way needs cheering up and reminding that there is still beauty in the world.

Do yourself a favour, admire the sunset/sunrise which is always sweeter when you’re on holiday on the Murray River of course 😉

The best idea anyone at had was getting shows into the regions 🙌🏻

Catching a city based Fringe show is near impossible for this performing theater loving gal, so when I heard the were hosting a cabaret singer, I had the calendar blocked out before I had tickets!

and her Caffiene Fiend coffee inspired cabaret was charming, funny and gobsmacking. The range of this lady’s vocals was stunningly beautiful.

Unfortunately there isn’t a continuous stream of performances throughout the but now you know for next years to keep an eye on what’s touring to the regions.

And Charlee, you had me at coffee ☕️ we will be seeing you in Edinburgh one day 💃

This cellar door feels like a hidden garden party… should we even be sharing it?

Yes! We should! cellar door near Barmera is absolutely gorgeous with leafy trees and lush lawn! It was a parents dream to bring the kids too, (not sure how the other cellar door goers felt about this 🤭) with chickens and a beautiful swing.

For the grown ups there’s some 20 varieties wine to try (of course), platters and also the beautiful boutique . Wine with a side of retail 🛍️ sign us up!

Parcoola didn’t start as a marketing idea or a way to make a buck (if it did, then we'd be well below our goal). It started with the idea of sharing our part of the Murray River with others, so they can experience what we do living on it. The peace, the stillness, the golden magic glow at sunset.

It grew into an intention to create a place where rest feels natural and unforced.

This is a private riverside retreat shaped by the Murray River, our memories and the land around it.

Most people see the Murray River when they visit the . Fewer see the floodplains beyond it.

After the 2022/23 flood, new trees began to grow across our floodplain. Without follow up water, many would struggle to survive in this super dry climate.

Over the past year, we’ve been fortunate to work with the board to water flood runners (creeks) across our property. The water is allocated through their environmental watering program and we offer our time in kind to help deliver it where it’s needed most.

It’s quiet work. Slow work. But we hope over time the floodplains black box eucalypt forests will regenerate and thrive and the lines of red gums along the creeks will continue to stand tall for generations to come.

When you stay at Parcoola, you’re supporting a place that is being cared for, not just used.
