Humpback whales are migrating south past Perth right now, and September is peak season. Whale Watching Perth runs 2-hour cruises from Hillarys Boat Harbour at 9am daily, plus an extra midday departure on Saturdays and Sundays through September.

Hillarys at dusk has its own kind of calm. The light drops, the water holds onto the last colour in the sky, and the whole harbour shifts into that slower evening rhythm the coast does so well.
