So we have some exciting news... the new cottages have arrived!!!
Piece by piece we are putting Pomonal Cottages Grampians together again.

Thank you so much to the team at Southern Cross Transportables and at Claridge House Removalists. They did a great job getting through the soft earth and lining it all up.

It looks great and we are feeling relief, overwhelm, exhaustion but also an eagerness to have the cottages up and running as soon as we can. To bring more life back onto the land.

It has been a great start to the year, having guests stay here again, people have been so kind and considerate. It has been a pleasure to see people enjoying Pomonal Cottages again.
By September we should have the 4 new cottages available for booking.

When we moved into Pomonal Cottages in the winter of 2023, our youngest child was only 10 days old. We were so excited to start our new life in Pomonal, and make Pomonal Cottages our home.

Just as we had started to settle in, the 2024 Grampians bushfires tore through Pomonal and our property was very badly hit. We lost our family home, 70% of our trees, and 70% of our accomodation.

We had the option to leave Pomonal and start from scratch somewhere else, but Pomonal is where we chose to make our home, and we wanted to stay and regenerate this land ourselves.

The cleanup job was huge and we couldn't have done it without the amazing support we received from our community here in Pomonal and our friends who donated to our relief fund.

2 years on, the land is bouncing back and so are we. We have planted over 60 trees, moved into a family-sized yurt on site, and we're getting ready to rebuild the cottages we lost - as well as five new yurts for guests.

We plan to open up more accomodation ready for next summer (2026-27), but to make that happen, we need to host some guests this summer.

Right now, we have two cottages ready for you to book.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, we are doing ok. Trying to stay positive and look forward to the future and what we can build together.
It is still hard and it will probably get more challenging but we have decided to build our life here, so now it is from the ground up. We are so grateful to all those people who have donated time, clothes, food, houses(!), money and love. It would be a very different situation without the kindness of people, I feel blessed.

Starting the cleanup ... We had a team of generous helpers here yesterday to clean up dangerous trees (we can't do much else jet just to dangerous) our electrician did an awesome job as well power should be on mid this week. Thanks for everyone that helped in wich way ever the fundraiser is nearly by 10000 what is great and will give the family a bit air financially.
