⚡ PLANNED POWER OUTAGE – CHANGE OF OPENING HOURS ⚡

Just a heads-up, everyone!

The Pooncarie Telegraph Hotel will be opening a little later than usual on Wednesday, 21st October, due to a planned power outage on Tarcoola Street.

🍻 We expect to be open from approximately 3pm, once power has been restored.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!

🔥 BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD STARTS 1 OCTOBER 🔥

The Bush Fire Danger Period for the Lower Western Zone commences 1 October and runs through to 31 March.

Now is the time to make sure you and your property is prepared for the fire season ahead.

🚜 Check and maintain firefighting equipment
🏡 Clear vegetation and combustible material around your home and sheds
💧 Make sure you have a reliable water supply
📋 Review or create your Bush Fire Survival Plan
🔥 Remember – Fire Permits are required during the Bush Fire Danger Period

Don’t wait until there’s smoke in the air to start preparing.

Prepare now. Know your risk. Have a plan.

🏇 GATES OPEN at 11am - Entry is $30 for adults includes a race book (under 18’s free).

🏇 The forecast is for 30 degrees with light winds so be sure to pack your sun protection and stay hydrated.

🏇 Remember to bring CASH for bookmakers & catering. EFTPOS will be available for gate entry & bar/drink tickets, however it’s not always 100% reliable in the bush.

🏇 TICKETS are also available to purchase online at https://www.ticketebo.com.au/pooncarieraces

🏇 BAR opens at 11am - DRINK TICKETS will be sold separately (located in the white tent just past the horse stables), please purchase PRIOR to heading to the bar.

🏇 Strictly NO BYO alcohol or glass.

🏇 FASHIONS ON THE FIELD starts off with the kids events at 12.30pm (registrations open at 11.00am).

🏇 FIRST RACE kicks off at 1.10pm.

🏇 NO dogs/pets allowed.

🏇 The township SHUTTLE BUS runs from approximately 11.00am until 6.30pm (gold coin donation).

🏇 Please remember that due to the increased demand on our phone towers there will only be limited TELSTRA phone service on the day.

🏇 Camping available at the Multipurpose Park located on Cemetery Road, Pooncarie.
