❄️ Winter Hours at the Port Albert Maritime Museum ❄️

As winter arrives and visitor numbers naturally slow, the Port Albert Maritime Museum will be moving to reduced opening hours from 1 June.

πŸ•š Open Sundays only
πŸ“ 11am – 4pm

We're still very much open and welcoming visitors throughout winter. If you can't make it on a Sunday, we can also open for groups by arrangement.

Whether you're a school group, historical society, community organisation, coach tour, car club or special interest group, we'd be delighted to share the stories of one of Victoria's oldest ports.

From shipwrecks and sailing vessels to fishermen, traders and pioneering families, the museum preserves the rich maritime heritage that helped shape Port Albert and Gippsland.

Winter is a wonderful time to visit Port Albert. Enjoy the waterfront, explore the town's historic streets and then step inside the museum to discover the stories behind the buildings, boats and people that made this place what it is today.

Thank you to everyone who supports the museum. We look forward to seeing you on Sundays throughout winter.

🌳 Did you know that Port Albert's Rutter Park was named after a local?

Across our Shire, many of our streets, parks and landmarks carry the names of people who helped shape the communities we know today.

Now, the Victorian Government's Remember a Local – Name a Place campaign is giving Victorians the opportunity to nominate someone whose contribution deserves to be remembered in the same way.

Whether it's a volunteer, community leader, local pioneer, coach, artist or someone who quietly made a difference, this is a chance to help ensure their story lives on for future generations.

Who from Wellington's past would you nominate?

πŸ“· Rutter Park, Port Albert.
