A great night both in the Lodge Room and the South where we welcomed the third of the Doust brothers into the Lodge. Brother Aidan was initiated in fine style in front of around thirty brethren. Aidan’s brother Jordan was the Inner Guard on the night. Unfortunately his other brother, Tim was unable to join us from Townsville as he was defaulters for crashing his Abram’s Tank. This has to be the first time that excuse has been used for missing a meeting. We were a bit rough and rusty in places but are looking forward to being more polished when we initiate Thomas and Alex at our next meeting in November. Welcome Aidan.

A wonderful night full of good food, good fun and good fellowship at the 88th meeting of the Combined Schools Lodge hosted by The Old Melburnians’ Lodge at Freemasons Melbourne. With over sixty brethren in attendance we were honoured to have Grand Master and his es**rt join us. Brother Lewis Allan of University Lodge gave a thought provoking talk on Freemasonry and AI. After the Lecture the Lodge was closed and very enjoyable South filled with good humour, camaraderie and lots and lots of singing. Including a sung Tyler’s Toast by Brother Nik. Until we all meet again next year. Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again.

This year, The Old Melburnians’ Lodge has the honour of hosting the 88th Combined Schools Lodge Meeting – and we’d love to see you there! Way back on 29 April 1930, 162 brethren from The Old Melburnians’, Wesley Collegians, Old Scotch Collegians, Brighton Grammar and Caulfield Grammar Lodges gathered for the very first meeting at 25 Collins Street. What a night that must have been! Since then, many other school and university lodges have joined the family (you can see them all on the flyer). Some have come and gone, but they all live on through the beautiful Master’s collar, proudly displaying their badges and years of hosting. So, whether your old school lodge is still going strong, or it closed its doors years ago, if one of these schools or universities was your alma mater, this evening is especially for you. We’re getting together to do exactly what the founders intended back in 1930: “renewing and recreating those happy memories and friendships so indelibly linked with the Old School days, and to foster and encourage… the high ideals and fraternal spirit of our Masonic Craft.” Come for the Good Fun, Good Food, and even better Fellowship! Expect great company, plenty of laughs, and a chance to reconnect with old mates and make new ones. We can't wait to welcome you. See you on the night!

Oh I almost forgot, what is an Installation without a Scotch Fire. Take it away.
