We all have sliding doors moments in life.

Small decisions, timing, a bit of luck… and things can head in a very different direction.

I know how fortunate I’ve been. And I’ve had the privilege of spending time with the St Vincent de Paul Society getting to know the incredible staff working in Vinnies’ men’s and women’s crisis shelters. I’ve seen how the line between “doing okay” and facing homelessness is far thinner than most of us think.

That’s why I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout again this year.

For one night this June, I’ll sleep outside, not because it compares to the real experience, but because it helps shine a light on a reality thousands of Australians face every night.

I’m not fundraising through my professional networks to avoid any conflict with my role at not-for-profit conservation charity, Zoos SA. So I’m turning to you, friends and family.

If you’re in a position to give to Vinnies, anything at all will help.

To say thanks (and just for fun):

• 💛 Donate $50+ in March and I’ll send you a lino print thank you card on recycled paper made by me
• 💛 Donate $100+ in March and I’ll send you a numbered, framed lino print on recycled paper made by me
• 💛 Donate $200+ in March and I’ll create a brand new custom lino print - your choice of subject (family member, pet, favourite place, whatever you like) carved, printed on recycled paper and framed just for you

One night isn’t a lot.
But it can make a whole lot of difference.

If you’d like to support, I’d be incredibly grateful.

A random assortment of recent prints in this post.

Our hearts are with our neighbours across the Cape and Deep Creek today. Seeing fire move through the places we love is confronting, especially so knowing how dynamic and challenging the conditions can be in such a rugged landscape.

In moments like this, the strength of the Fleurieu really shows. Neighbours checking in on neighbours, people opening gates, lending hands, sharing updates and looking out for one another. That quiet, practical community spirit matters more than ever.

A huge thank you to the incredible CFS volunteers and emergency crews from across the state who have worked tirelessly through the night to protect homes, farms, wildlife and each other. Your selflessness and dedication is just mind blowing.

Stay safe.

Salt-stung air, cliffs holding the last of the light, and a sea that feels both generous and unforgiving. The rainbows arrive quietly, half, then fully-formed and fleeting, as if they know better than to linger.

This place that reminds you the landscape was here long before us, and will carry on just fine without us.

Our secret beach was waiting for us today.
The sand was warm on our feet
The promise of a fish for our lunch.

A surfer slipped across the water
and the island sat still, watching.
The ferry came, the ferry went,
and everything felt just right..
