Roma Rural Student Hostel The Roma Rural Student Hostel is an established boarding facility providing accommodation for secondary students, years 7 to 12 who wish to study in Roma.

The Roma Rural Student Hostel (RRSH) is an established boarding facility providing accommodation for secondary students, years 7 to 12 who wish to study in Roma, Qld. Priority is given to students from remote and rural areas of Western Queensland and the Northern Territory. The facility has high quality single bedroom capacity for 21 students. RRSH has been an intrinsic part of the Roma education

framework for 25 years and is owned by the Maranoa Regional Council, administered by a voluntary committee and is operated by experienced house parent, Janice Colley. The Roma Rural Student Hostel is committed to providing a highly valued boarding service, which supports students in their personal development and education in a safe and caring environment.

Maranoa Regional Youth Council โ€“ Expression of Interest are open now!

Council is pleased to announce that expressions of interest for the exciting new initiative, the Maranoa Regional Youth Council (MRYC), are open now.

The establishment of the Youth Council is driven by Councilโ€™s desire to ensure that the younger members of our community are represented โ€“ and who better to lead that than the youth themselves.

Council is excited to welcome the next generation into the Chambers and provide them with an opportunity to share their ideas, raise issues and contribute to local decision making.

โ€œI encourage young people aged 12 to 18 from across the region to submit an expression of interest for the Maranoa Regional Youth Council, particularly if they want to play an active role in improving their communities. This is a great opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills and be part of leading positive change โ€” all while having fun.โ€ Portfolio for Youth, Councillor John Birkett said.
