Originally a stately hotel, public bar and dining room opened in 1912, the building has been carefully revived to incorporate historic details (including original leadlight windows and glazed tiles) that inspire a new direction - favouring the charm and unique identity that is the South of the United States. Under the guidance of Hotelier Vincent Rae (Rae’s on Watego’s, Byron Bay), publishing and property entrepreneur Deke Miskin, and publican Christian Denny, the hotel has been stripped back to it’s beautiful bones and reinvigorated with mindful reference to its early history, reviving the majestic heyday of the 1912 building with a paired back elegance and new energy.
“Harry's has great bones as a 100-year-old Hotel building,” says Publican and owner Christian Denny. “We have been very careful to keep the majestic characteristics of the building, simply peeling back all those years of renovations and restoration to reveal the true heritage in the walls, floor and façade to showcase the life and character of the Hotel.”
