Danna has a habit that guests notice without quite knowing why. She reads the room before she touches it. A pram by the door, a suit on the hanger, a book left open on the bedside table. Small things, but they tell her who is staying and what they might need, and she shapes the room around it.

Housekeeping Week, episode three. Meet Rose, our Assistant Executive Housekeeper, fourteen years with Swissôtel Sydney.

If the rooms are ready on time, every day, a good part of that comes down to Rose. She keeps the floor moving, keeps the team on track and has a way of holding everyone to a standard.

For this episode we followed her on a room inspection day. It’s a small window into what she does every day, and into how much care goes into a room before a guest ever opens the door. Fourteen years of that care, and it shows.

Soveena joined Swissôtel Sydney eighteen years ago, and if you have stayed with us in that time, there is a good chance she has looked after your room. Ask anyone on the team about her and the first thing they mention is the smile. It arrives before she does, and it does not fade by the end of a long shift.

Eighteen years in, and she still loves it. We are so lucky to have her!
