In this episode of 5 Star Conversations, our guest, Faulkner from -Belhotel International, challenges the traditional thinking around how we measure the severity of operational mistakes.

Evaluating errors based on the root action rather than the financial fallout completely shifts how we approach performance management. A momentary lapse causing a $12,000 penalty demands the exact same operational correction as a $12 error, while repeatedly making minor mistakes reveals a much deeper failure to learn. Effective leaders must focus on fixing the underlying process and mindset rather than merely reacting to the price tag of the mistake.
