To know. To dare. To will. To keep silent.
Sharing an active working exposes its architecture. The intention, the method, the correspondences, sometimes even the timing. You’re giving people a map to a current they may never have found on their own.

And attention itself can become another influence on the work. Curiosity, doubt, projection, envy, opposition. Why invite any of it in unnecessarily?

Work first. Speak later. Let your workings land deeply enough to become difficult to disturb… And perhaps pay attention to what people reveal when they think nobody is watching 👀

A couple of you have asked me about this video… here’s my additional 2c on spider webs in your magick.

Spider web can absolutely be used in binding magick, but reducing it to simply a binding ingredient misses a huge part of its potential. A web is strong. It creates and protects territory. It connects multiple points, catches what enters it, restricts movement and allows the spider to sense disturbances across its entire structure.

So magically, we can begin thinking about spider web through themes of binding, protection, entrapment, restriction, connection, fate, territory and baneful magick.

But practitioner knowledge asks another question: what is the web in front of you already doing? Afresh, active spider web carries very different energy from an old, dusty cobweb. One is functional, responsive and actively maintained. The other may speak to stagnation, neglect, stillness and things that have been allowed to sit untouched.
A cobweb from a bankrupt business has a very different history from one collected in a thriving home. A web from a property abandoned after a separation carries different context again….

And if you’re using spider web for a binding that you may eventually need to undo, consider keeping the physical remnants of the working. Situations change. People change. Having the anchor gives you something tangible to cut, unwind or dismantle when the time comes.

The best materia often tells you how it wants to be used - You just have to pay attention.

Okay, the rising ocean levels being caused by Cancer’s tears was obviously a joke 😂♋️

But Cancer’s reputation for being emotional really does undersell what’s happening beneath the surface. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and has an incredible sensitivity to emotional shifts. They’re often feeling the change in the room before anyone has acknowledged that something has changed at all. A different tone, a strange pause, someone pulling away slightly… Cancer noticed.

That emotional depth can make them sentimental, protective and yes, a little teary, but it also makes them beautifully intuitive, nurturing and deeply considerate of the people they love - They have emotional antennae.

So yes Cancer, you can cry. You probably already knew I was going to say that anyway 🌙♋️

A simple protection bowl for your home or threshold
🧂 Salt for cleansing + creating a protective boundary
🌿 Rosemary for protection + purification
⭐ Star Anise for protection + warding
🖤 Black Obsidian for shielding + repelling unwanted energy
🌑 Smoky Quartz for grounding + clearing heavy energy

Add everything to a small bowl with intention, then place it near your front door, entryway or another threshold.

Refresh the botanicals and salt periodically, or whenever the bowl feels like it’s done its job.
