I think the Reel works really well now. And yes, the caption can tell the bigger story that the Reel itself doesn't: the flowers aren't just something that suddenly appeared for spring — the garden has been giving you colour throughout the year, and some of those flowers even make their way onto the breakfast table.

🌸 There always seems to be something in bloom at Mountain Sanctuary Retreat.

Spring may be bringing even more colour to the garden, but one of the beautiful surprises of living here has been watching flowers bloom almost right throughout the year.

From brilliant hibiscus and delicate azaleas to Alstroemerias and Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, every little walk through the garden seems to reveal something new. 🌺🌿

And sometimes, a beautiful bloom makes its way from the garden straight onto our breakfast table — a little piece of the mountain for our guests to enjoy. 🌸☕️

From bare branches to breakfast bowls. 🌿🫐
It wasn’t long ago that our mulberry tree looked almost completely bare… and then suddenly, it came alive.
Of course, the locals noticed too. 😂 Our pademelons, cockatoos and resident brush turkeys are all quite happy to share in the harvest.
And what they leave for us? Fresh mulberries picked straight from the garden and added to our guests’ breakfast fruit bowls at Mountain Sanctuary Retreat.
Grown here. Shared with the wildlife. Served at our table. ❤️

There really are some magical places on Tamborine Mountain. 🌿🌸
The Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens are one of them — beautiful rainforest, peaceful walks, gorgeous flowers and plenty of lovely little spots to sit and enjoy a picnic.
Even more special is knowing that these beautiful gardens are cared for by a dedicated community of volunteers. 💚
And when you want to make an occasion a little more extraordinary, Natachia from creates the most beautiful picnic experiences around the mountain — including right here in the Botanic Gardens.

🐟 A little local gem on Tamborine Mountain – The Codfather!

We decided on fish & chips for dinner and what a great find. Beautiful cod, calamari and chips, with both grilled and battered fish to choose from — absolutely delicious.

And the shop itself is just so wonderfully quaint and full of character. ❤️

It was also such a pleasure meeting owner Janice O'Brien — what a lovely woman.

Our cockatoos already had their own private dining room—but we thought they might enjoy a lovely new open feeder. 🦜

It was a wonderful idea… until the local brush turkeys discovered they could actually fly up to it! 😂

And just like that, the peaceful cockatoo café became an all-you-can-eat turkey buffet.

So that was the first—and last—appearance of the open feeder. It’s back to the turkey-proof dining room at Mountain Sanctuary Retreat! 🤣

One of the things we love most about mornings at Mountain Sanctuary Retreat is never quite knowing who will pop in for a visit. 🌿💚

Our mulberry trees are bursting with fresh new leaves at the moment, and the local pademelons have certainly noticed! This beautiful mum has been visiting quietly, and this morning we discovered why — look closely and you’ll see a tiny little joey tucked safely inside her pouch. 🦘🥰

And, of course, she wasn't our only visitor… one of our resident brush turkeys decided to wander through and join the morning gathering too. 🦃

These are the little moments that make life on Tamborine Mountain so special — waking up surrounded by rainforest, birdsong and our beautiful local wildlife.
