🧢 Winter Grand Adventures: Nundle

Less than an hour from Austin Tourist Park sits one of our favourite winter day trips.

Nundle is full of country charm, historic buildings and plenty of reasons to slow down for a while.

Spend the day exploring the village, browse the local shops, enjoy a coffee by the fire, visit Hanging Rock Lookout or try your luck fossicking for gold.

Then return to Austin for a relaxing evening and start planning tomorrow's adventure.

Because sometimes the best road trips aren't the longest ones.

Nothing Goes To Waste 🧱

These moulds might not look like much, but they've played a big role in shaping Austin Tourist Park.

When we pour concrete for roads, slabs or other projects around the park, we always try to plan ahead.

If there's concrete left over, it doesn't automatically become waste. Instead, it often finds a second life as one of our riverbank blocks.

Over the years, that simple idea has helped us build sections of our roads, strengthen the riverbank and make the most of materials that might otherwise have been discarded.

It's not about being trendy. It's about making good use of what you've got.
That's how Frank's always done things.

G'day!

When you're travelling, it's often the little things that make the biggest difference.

A comfortable cabin. A quiet night's sleep. A friendly face in reception. A place that feels looked after.

We know not every traveller is looking for the newest or fanciest place to stay. Many are simply looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and welcoming — somewhere they can relax and enjoy their time in Tamworth.

That's why reviews like this one mean so much to us. They tell us we're getting the important things right.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience.

G'day! ⚾🔥

The scoreboard might not have gone the way they hoped this year, but if you ask us, the June Long Weekend was still a winner.

It was great to welcome the Beers Baseball crew back to Austin Tourist Park for another year of baseball, catch-ups and plenty of laughs. From early morning coffees and smoky Brisket dinners to campfire chats that stretched well into the evening, the weekend was packed with the things that make group trips memorable.

There may not have been any premiership trophies heading home this time around, but there was no shortage of team spirit, good food and good company. Sometimes the best part of the weekend isn't the result on the field — it's the stories shared afterwards.

Thanks to Ben and everyone from Beers Baseball for choosing to stay with us again. We hope you've all recovered from the weekend and we look forward to seeing you back in Tamworth next year! ⚾😊

G'day!

A few weeks ago we started a small project that might not look exciting at first glance, but it's one of those improvements that will make a big difference for years to come.

The driveway at Cabin 25 has been upgraded from pavers to a brand-new concrete surface. The old pavers had served us well, but over time movement meant they regularly needed attention and re-levelling.

This new surface should provide a smoother, more reliable driveway while reducing ongoing maintenance — making life easier for both our guests and our team. 🚜✨

It's not the biggest project we've tackled, but it's another step in our commitment to continually improving the park, one project at a time.

What do you think of the finished result?

🏉 Winter road trip idea? We've got one.

The NRL arrives in Tamworth from 25–28 June, and it's shaping up to be a fantastic weekend to get away.

Spend the day enjoying the action, then return to a warm cabin or your campsite and settle in for a relaxing winter evening.

Add a day trip, a country pub lunch, a walk along the Peel River or simply a slow morning with a coffee and you've got yourself a Winter Grand Adventure.

Accommodation is filling steadily, so if you've been thinking about a footy getaway, now's the time to start planning.
