We had some lovely guests in July who have generously shared a drone video of Mascot Cottage.
We’ve captured a few fabulous frames from the video.
Although it is not so green and the crops are ripening, we start our run in to harvest in the coming week/s.

We’ve been adding to our menagerie!

We incubated some Lavender Sussex and Cream Leg Bar eggs (they lay the blue eggs). I wouldn’t say we had much success but we’re loving our 3 chickens.

We kept the incubator going and added 24 guinea fowl eggs. We’re at day 8 so we will have another two weeks until we hopefully have some keets!

Carol, the goat, has joined us. She’s one very quick and agile animal!

We have a cute lamb that is only a few days old but she’s beginning to drink well so🤞. We had 3 male poddy lambs this year so it’s nice to have a girl!

The garden is full of surprises at this time of the year. I was gifted a piece of the rose ‘Seduction’ from one of West Wyalong’s gardening gurus. She said to pop it in the ground and it should be right. Well Janice, you were right!

The lentil curry was well received tonight so we thought we’d share the recipe.

We added some finely chopped zucchini and capsicum.

We used tinned brown lentils and chick peas so we didn’t need the water.

Give it a go!

The rain arrived with perfect timing for the crops (and my daffodils).

The Humbug Creek is flowing and the sound of frogs and wildlife is amazing.

We have a busy week at Mascot Cottage. I had just prepared the cottage for tonight’s guests and the sun shone in.

We have been catering for some meals and we have had two pescatarian’s this week. We’ve been learning and delivering some yummy meals!

We have had some beautiful weather and today we did some sheep work in the cracking sunshine.

We grew our first romanesco and included it in a lentil curry. Great reviews from our lovely guests this evening!
