🍻 20 YEARS OF THE RODNREEL 🍻
In October 2006, we took over the lease of Woodburn’s RodnReel Hotel.
We were CLUELESS. 😂
What started as a dream to own a country pub became a family business, a huge part of our lives, and a place that has seen more change than we ever could have imagined over the past two decades.
We’ve grown our family, lost people we love, gained the most incredible friends who we now call family, and become part of a community that means so much to us.
And after 20 years, surely we can almost call ourselves locals now… can we?? 😂
There have been laughs and tears. Celebrations and devastation. Growth, arguments (many 😂), love (lots ❤️), stress, joy and just about every emotion in between.
We’ve made thousands of memories. We’ve seen pretty much everything that comes with owning a pub — and probably plenty of things that don’t. The stories we could tell are endless!
We’re incredibly proud that we’ve made it this far. It has been far from easy, but somehow, together, we’ve just kept swimming… even when at times it felt like we were nearly drowning. ❤️
We could never possibly thank every person who has supported us over the past 20 years, but if you’ve worked for us, had a b**r at the bar, stayed with us, celebrated with us, supported us through the hard times or simply been part of the RodnReel story — thank you.
But our biggest thank you has to go to Hayden, Amelia and Kai.
They’re the ones who see what goes on behind the scenes. The staffing, the rostering, the hiccups, the stress and the frustration. They’re the ones who’ve heard, “Dad’s at work” when there’s footy, dance or something else we desperately wish we could both be at.
They are three pretty amazing kids, and we are unbelievably proud of them. 🙌
And we’re also fairly certain that after growing up in a pub, none of them will EVER want to own one. 😂😂
So… happy 20 years of the RodnReel to us. 🍻❤️
What a ride it’s been.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all tomorrow. 🎉
