Our brick retaining wall wall is under construction ... this is from my Facebook marketplace purchase … of course we are short! We only enough to do the big side and potentially the bottom of the shorter side … over to Wodonga I go to collect the rest we need to finish the job!

What do you think? I feel it makes a massive difference to our front entry - I always used to think it was the first thing people saw when they drove in and it was pretty uninspiring ... but the plants are all growing and flowering at the moment and the wall just gives it a polished edge ... love to know your thoughts!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there, and to all the Dads in heaven looking down on us. Today we will both remember our own Dads, but our girls will celebrate their Dad, Scratcha.

This year feels a little different because after 20-something years of being Dad to two girls, he is literally days away from becoming a Poppy for the first time… and finally getting a boy on the team!

After growing up in a house with 3 boys, when we got together he got "girl swamped". I have 3 sisters, he coached our girls' cricket team, then we had 2 daughters and he has coached the girls footy teams as well … basically the poor bloke has spent most of his adult life completely surrounded and outnumbered by girls.

So he will FINALLY get a boy on the team!

He’s been the Dad who taught our girls to ride bikes & motorbikes, the boat driver for a gazillion hours teaching them how to water ski and tow them for hours, how to drive, to jump off high things into water, kick a footy, go on scary rides, make surprise toasties, cook on a campfire, and the designated driver and adventurer of our many family caravan holidays!

There's also probably quite a few things I wouldn't have approved of had I actually been watching at the time ... like a slingshot ride for a 5 year old!

He's never been someone who wants to be in the spotlight and he would probably rather I didn't write a Facebook post about him at all… which obviously makes me want to do it even more.

He is the best Dad and will be the best Poppy too.

Happy Fathers Day ... Love your girls (and soon to be 1 boy) ###

And to all the Grandads, stepdads and the men who have stepped up when the paternal ones didn't… you are legends and some of the best men too.

Happy Father’s Day to all ❤️

Wow… our goats turn 7 this month! Time is flying by ...

This video came up in my memories and there’s so much about it that made me smile.

It was Trinny’s 13th birthday present; the goats were just babies and LOOK at the backyard of the resort! I had wiped from my memory how untidy and 💩 it was back then. It looks so different now – so much neater, more user friendly and one of those things I notice everyday … I love my backyard now!

We originally had three goats – Loki, Chewy & Astro. Sadly Loki has since gone to goat heaven, but Chewy & Astro are still here. They are very entertaining with their antics and now share life with the chickens, who they boss around and pretty much bully.

Looking at this video, it’s not just the resort that has changed ... how’s our own kids! They have grown up so much. Trinny was only 13 in this video and now she’s all grown up, while Airlie is about to make us grandparents for the first time. Seven years really does disappear before you know it.

I loved watching this video back, so I thought it deserved a re-run.

Who remembers the goats when they were this little? If you’ve stayed with us since, tell us if you’ve met our goats – I’m guessing quite a few of you have a goat story!

Who said Winter is a traditionally a quiet time here in Yarrawonga/Mulwala??? Hmm well maybe that was me ... a few years back and it actually was!

It's hard when you have a seasonal business so we did something about it rather than just accepting the "oh Winter is quiet story everyone tells" ... we made a real effort to change our thinking and re write the story. We introduced our Winter Sale, and started showing people that Airtree isn’t just a Summer destination; we gave groups a great price to get their crew together and get everyone together for a weekend away.

And it’s worked ... so well ...

Every weekend over Winter this year was filled with groups taking over the resort – and when I sat down and looked at WHY everyone came, it hit me how many different reasons people find to get everyone together and spend some quality time

Our winter Sale weekends included …

• Dave and his family back for another family weekend - retun guests
• Derek and the crew back for their annual King’s Birthday weekend
• Carol, her family & the girls celebrating a surprise 60th – familiar faces from our Winedown
• Jason and his crew here for a 40th birthday - new guests
• Emily’s family back for their third Winter family reunion – and already booked again for next year
• Airlie hosting her Future With Fur dog grooming weekend
• Carol and her family celebrating both parents 90th birthday's
• Ruci and the crew here for a church camp - new guests
• Ollie and the boys for a golf weekend - new guests
• Deb and her family celebrating her Mum’s 90th - an old friend of ours but a new guest
• Helen and the sewing ladies back for their third quilting retreat – & booked again for next year
• Laurel and a group of friends who have been getting together for more than 30 years, spending their first weekend at Airtree
• Pat and the girls taking over Airtree for a Hens Weekend - new guests
• A baby shower & mosaic workshop thrown into the mix
• And we finished Winter with Mal & Tyson’s wedding weekend.

Birthdays from 40 to 90, family reunions, golf, sewing, a hens weekend, church camp, dog grooming, a wedding and groups of friends who just wanted an excuse to get together.

And the part we love the most ... so many of them were people who had stayed with us before and chose to come back again.

So never buy into the talk ... Winter might traditionally be the quiet season around here, but we flipped the script here at Airtree.

We’ve now released our Winter Sale weekends for next year and have kept the price exactly the same:

$3,000 + GST for exclusive use of the entire resort for the weekend, including early check-in Friday.

There are currently only 8 weekends left to book – and one of those includes Mother’s Day. What a great way to celebrate Mum!

So if there’s a milestone birthday coming up in 2027, a family reunion everyone keeps talking about but nobody actually organises, a hens weekend, a friends weekend, a golf trip, you want to run a retreat, or any other celebration – check out the weekends we still have available https://airtreeresort.com.au/winter-sale/

It's a long post but if you got to the end its a huge thank you to everyone who stayed with us this Winter – the familiar faces who keep coming back and all the new guests who chose to stay with us for the first time.

We really do appreciate every booking and love seeing the resort full and being used for so many different reasons.

HELP… our help has to leave 😞 Our current caretakers who were due to be with us for this season have unfortunately had a family situation come up which means they need to urgently head back to WA and will be taking off next week.

We 100% understand that family ALWAYS comes first – but having said that, this has got Jules in a bit of a state!

The timing couldn’t be more impractical… Airlie is due to have our first grandchild any day now, our busy season is a few weeks from kick off and, while we are always very grateful being busy, this probably wasn’t the greatest time to test our resilience.

That being said ... we need help; we need to find someone ...

Our best case scenario would be to find someone travelling with their own caravan or motorhome who would like to come and live onsite with us for the season – if you could stay through until the end of June, that would be amazing. We provide a powered site with water free of charge and all hours worked are paid.

But while we look for the right person, we’d also love to hear from any locals who might be available and are looking for around 15–20 hours of work a week.

We mainly need help outside with things like:

• Whipper snipping
• Painting
• Gardening
• Basic handyman jobs
• General jobs around the grounds

You don’t need to be a qualified tradie – we just need someone practical, reliable and reasonably handy who is a legend with a drill, paintbrush or whipper snipper!

The work can be flexible and would probably really suit someone semi-retired, a grey nomad wanting to park up for a while, or a local who has a couple of spare days each week.

If you’re interested, or you know someone who might suit us, send us a message with your info.

Here we were thinking this might be the season we could actually take our foot off the pedal a little and enjoy our little granddie … apparently the universe has other plans!

We had to do a quick road trip to Melbourne on Wednesday - what a site; the canola fields are looking stunning!

Why not take a drive and check them out - Spring is in the air and yesterday it was nearly 20 degrees. School holidays are coming up in Septmber why not come and stay with us a bit and check out those canola fields all the way around NE Victoria.
