The very name conjures up images of an extraordinary village nestled amidst rolling hillocks and lush tea gardens. A place completely free from the hustle and bustle of city life, where you are surrounded by nothing but a breathtaking sea of green. Imagine walking into the distance, breathing in the fresh aroma of nature, strolling barefoot on damp soil and wet grass on a rainy afternoon, or simply watching torrential rain pour down through the window for hours.
📍 How to Get There:
This hidden gem, 'Tilagaon', is a small village located in the Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar district. Step 1: Take a bus or train to Sreemangal first. Step 2: From there, take a CNG auto-rickshaw along Bhanugach Road to Botertol (about 12 km away). A Quick Note: The route from Sreemangal to Botertol is absolutely breathtaking! As soon as you hit the road, tea gardens will greet you on both sides. Shortly after, you will enter the Lawaohara National Park. Driving through the forest, with dense jungle on either side and navigating sharp, winding elevation changes, you will suddenly feel a refreshing chill in the air. It truly gives you the vibe of driving through the Dooars forest! Tilagaon is just 3 km inside from Botertol. Navigating through the winding roads blanketed by greenery on both sides brings you straight to Tilagaon Eco Village.
🏡 Cottages & Nature:
Surrounded by a secluded, lush forest, each cottage here is beautifully crafted from mud and wood. Spotting monkeys playing around or hearing the distant calls of foxes is a very common part of the experience here.
🍛 Authentic Rural Flavors:
For food, you will enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits straight from the fields, paired with country chicken cooked on traditional earthen stoves, mashed potatoes (Alu Bhorta), and lentils served with steaming hot rice.
🌙 A Magical Night:
As night falls, the atmosphere turns magical, echoing with the symphony of crickets and the calls of foxes. A major highlight of this resort is its heart-shaped pond. On a full moon night, the reflection of the moon dances on the water, illuminating the landscape all the way to the distant tea gardens! In moments like that, anyone is bound to lose themselves in the ethereal moonlight. One can only look on in absolute wonder at how incredibly beautiful this tiny pocket of the universe—Tilagaon Eco Village—truly is!
