CHAMBILLAYA

🇧🇴 La Ciudad Fantasma
Fue una mina donde trabajaron miles de mineros desde principios del siglo pasado. El mineral principal fue el wolfram o tugsteno. Este mineral se utiliza para la construcción de blindados y armamento militar. Fue durante la primera y la segunda guerra mundial que el mineral tuvo precios altos. La mina fue abandonada el año 1985 debido a la baja en el precio internacional y el agotamiento de los yacimientos.
Los años 90 CHAMBILLAYA fue deposito de una carga mortal. Restos tóxicos y radioactivos qué viajó a través de Sudamérica. Debido a denuncias de Greenpeace y otros medios de prensa fue retirada la carga mortal.
A raíz de este hecho se filmo una película llamada " La Carga Mortal".
Chambillaya hoy son solo ruinas y la vegetación cubre las ruinas de lo que en otro momento fue una ciudad minera de intensa actividad.

It was a mine where thousands of miners worked from the beginning of the last century. The main mineral was tungsten, also known as wolfram. This mineral is used in the construction of armored vehicles and military weaponry. During the First and Second World Wars, the mineral fetched high prices. The mine was abandoned in 1985 due to the drop in the international price and the depletion of the deposits.
In the 1990s, Chambillaya was the site of a deadly cargo. Toxic and radioactive waste traveled across South America. Due to reports from Greenpeace and other media outlets, the deadly cargo was removed. Following this incident, a film called "The Deadly Cargo" was made.
Today, Chambillaya is just ruins, and vegetation covers the remains of what was once a bustling mining town.

🇧🇴 Hoy les traemos un treking no lo puedes faltar cuando vienes a Quime.
📍Réplica Cristo de la Concordia - Quime
Para subir desde nuestra cabaña necesitas por minimo 1h 30 min, para bajar 1h 15min. Te recomendamos que lleves contigo snacks o un almuerzo, arriba hay dinde sentarse y comer algo con las vistas. Llevaté por minimo un litro de agua - es mucha subida y la subida empieza al nivel de 3000 m. Te recomendamos que reserves tiempo de unas 3-4 horas para hacer este treking con descanso y almuerzo arriba. El treking no es dificil, te vas por una carretera amplia, todo el tiempo tienes las vistas panoramicas.

📍Replica of Christ of the Concord - Quime
To hike from our cabin, you'll need at least 1 hour 30 minutes, and to descend, 1 hour 15 minutes. We recommend bringing snacks or lunch; there are places to sit and eat at the top while enjoying the views. Bring at least a liter of water—it's a steep hike, starting at an altitude of 3000 meters. We recommend setting aside 3-4 hours for this trek, including a break and lunch at the top. The trek isn't difficult; you'll follow a wide road, and you'll have panoramic views the whole time.
