ro Brazil, has the peaceful atmosphere of a farm although only at a short distance from any touristic attraction in Rio: Bus lines to any destinations in Rio stop in Sao Conrado at +-200 m from the house, we have a taxi station just at the corner of our street, the International airport is linked to us with a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit system with exclusive lanes) and we recently inherited the Sao Conrado subway station from the 2016 Olympics, that puts us now at 10 minutes from Copacabana ...
The “Gávea Rock” that raises straight to 844 m (2.769 ft) above the house (a major starting point for paragliding and delta wings) is part of a mountain ridge covered with subtropical forest (Mata Atlántica) of the Tijuca National Park that surrounds the house: The view we have from the house across the Golf Club is just breathtaking …

Thanks to the “Guesthouse” management model that we have adopted, we are able to benefit our guests with particularly attractive rates and offers to them pleasant and comfortable rooms in relation with this category. On the other hand, our rooms are not provided with TV and minibar and we do not serve breakfast. In return for that our guests find a well-fitted kitchen waiting for them with refrigerators and shelves in the pantry for fresh vegetables and exotic fruits available in nearby stores and street markets (there is a supermarket with many specialties around the corner) to prepare their own meals and breakfast and feel like at home and independent from costly restaurant food 3 times a day. Guests are entitled to the unrestricted use of the appliances and commodities of the house: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven, Wi-Fi internet, swimming pool etc… A laundry service is available as an option. Like any other private house, there is no bar or restaurant and the kitchen closes at night to preserve the tranquility of the guests. We do not have a permanent reception, we are sometimes difficult to reach by phone and we warn our guests that we have no room service and the bed linen change does not happen every day as we adopt the same pace as most private homes and change the bed linens every three days in hot weather conditions and weekly in the winter even though our staff is always at your disposal to intervene more frequently if desired. Establishments classified as "Hotels" follow a very distinct philosophy but of course they charge considerably higher daily rates... I believe that our cost / benefit ratio is excellent as evidenced by the commentaries from many of our guests in the internet... and that we really are a nice alternative! São Conrado offers many attractions. In close vicinity to Casa Sao Conrado you will find the Pepino beach (3km of white sand), with a delicious Italian culinary kiosk, a golf club, the renowned meat restaurant Churrascaria Oasis, the Fashion Mall shopping that is one of the most elegant of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Conrado Catholic Church, a Zona Sul Supermarket with a considerable choice of imported specialties, the mountain range of Tijuca National Park with its innumerable trails, climbing and rappel sites, the delta wings and paragliders ramp, waterfalls and sightseeing points, also including Christ the Redeemer Statue that you can reach mountain biking through the woods, or by car (taxi) ....
Situated on a 200-meter-wide coastal strip at the foot of one of the largest urban Natural Parks in the world (3,000-hectares of Atlantic forest) the Sao Conrado district is equally close to both the eternal charms of old Rio (10 minutes by metro from Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and Gávea) and the very future oriented and dynamic Rio of Barra da Tijuca and Recreio dos Bandeirantes. Without getting very far from Casa Sao Conrado you will have access to many radical sport arts and find as well very nice nightlife places. The house is very close (15 minutes) to the largest nightlife center in Barra da Tijuca, in the "Jardim Oceânico" neighborhood between Praia do Pepe (the first beach of Barra da Tijuca after São Conrado) and Avenida Armando Lombardi where the most popular nightclubs of Barra are located, while the Olegário Maciel Avenue is a unique succession of superlative bars and restaurants. By day, the region of São Conrado and the beginning of Barra da Tijuca delimit a center of excellence for many extreme sport arts: free flying above Casa São Conrado between Pedra Bonita and the beach, surfing in São Conrado and kite-surfing in the place known as "Quebra Mar" at the beginning of Pepe beach. The takeoff ramp of the delta wings and paragliders sought by pilots of the whole world (with good atmospheric conditions experienced pilots manage to fly to the Christ the Redeemer and return to land on the Pepino beach) is situated in the Tijuca National Park, which starts directly behind the house, there are also countless hiking trails, climbing and abseiling walls, waterfalls and touristic belvederes, including of course the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which you can reach through the forest by bicycle (very hard) or taxi .... The house also has bicycles for rent to enjoy the almost 40 km of bike paths on the seashore to Grumari at the foot of the Santa Cruz mountain range. In the Christmas time one of the great attractions is to admire the illuminated 70-meter-high Christmas tree, which is erected again every year in the middle of the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, on new year’s eve the fireworks on Copacabana beach (don’t forget your bottle of champagne … ) offer a very exciting and emotional experience, during Carnival the blocks are scattered throughout the city and the Sambódromo of the Marques de Sapucaí avenue offers for 5 days the unique splendor of its parades, not to forget a visit to the Maracanã stadium, the samba of Lapa and the Largo de São Francisco (Pedra do Sal).
