Exuma is big on Lobster…also Grouper and of course conch when in season. Watch for the stands scattered alongside Queens Highway where local fishermen sell them fresh, straight from the sea. _____________________________________________________

Rain Pool. After a few dry weeks we had a major downpour yesterday. I love the rain… usually it only lasts for a few minutes and happens mostly around sunset. It is always a spectacular display. Afterwards everything always feels rejuvenated. The sky is bluer, the grass is greener and the sun shines brighter. We are pretty much off the grid, so we source the resulting freshwater from underground caves, filtered by corral rock sand stone. (We also have our own filtration system. ) The pool stays filled entirely with refreshing rain water. When staying for a week at The Exuma Outpost you should be so lucky to experience one of those evening rains.
