Our trackers are trained to spot what most of us would drive right past: a flick of movement, a glint of eyeshine, the outline of an animal melting into the darkness πŸ”¦

On a night drive in Kwando’s private concessions, that skill can turn an ordinary drive into an unforgettable sighting πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Sometimes all it takes is one quiet word: β€œThere.”

What’s your favourite nocturnal animal?

Lebala’s lion story continues to unfold across the floodplains of the Kwando Private Concession.

From the legendary days of Old Gun and Sebastian, to the rise of the Golden Boys, and now the growing presence of the Face to Face coalition, every generation leaves its mark on this wild corner of Botswana. The bloodlines of Striker, Cracked Mouth, and Scar Face still echo through the concession, shaping one of the most remarkable lion territories in Africa.

This is what 24 hours at Lebala Camp looked like just last week! 25 lions across 4 different sightings 🦁

Four young males stood watch in the east, overlooking the shimmering floodplains. Nearby, eight mud-covered lions dragged down an impala in the dark clay soils surrounding the marshes. Along Sable Road, two magnificent males patrolled with quiet confidence, their golden coats untouched by the chaos of any hunt... yet!

Then came perhaps the sweetest sighting of all: four lionesses and six cubs resting beneath a shepherd’s tree, feeding on a massive eland kill. An extraordinary prize! It is very special to see herds of these giant antelopes moving through the leadwood forests of Kwando.

Let's explore the magic of the Moanchira Channel πŸͺ·

Set within the breathtaking Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta, beautiful boat trips can be enjoyed from both Splash Camp and Kwara Camp.

Every bend in the channel reveals extraordinary scenery, incredible birds, aquatic botanicals and the quiet beauty of one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas.

Waterways. Forest islands. Predator country 🐾

One minute, it’s elephants drifting through the reeds. The next, a lion sprawled like he owns the floodplain... which, to be fair, he does.

At Kwara Camp, every drive has a plot twist, every sundowner feels earned, and every day somehow tops the last.

Wild, beautiful, a little unpredictable... just how we like it 😎

No game drive is the same here.

Some mornings are all speed... African wild dogs on the hunt, dust rising behind them.
Other times it's about identifying bird calls, learning about medicinal plants, or outlining the soft print of a cheetah in sand.

That’s Botswana. No script. No set route. Just the bush deciding what today looks like!

Wonderful images from Ingrid Vekemans and Nicole Cambre.

Quick question for our Kwando family...

Where did you leave a little piece of your heart?

Was it the predator-rich plains of Kwara?
The riverfront magic of Lagoon?
The desert silence of Tau Pan?
The watery channels of Moremi Crossing?
The wild starlit nights of Nxai Pan?
Or somewhere else entirely?

Tell us below. We’re curious πŸ‘‡
