For the third year in a row, African wild dogs have chosen Mogotlho as a denning area. With low traffic, reliable water, and plenty of prey, the conditions here continue to support one of Africa's most endangered predators. This year, the pack has been seen guarding the alpha female as she dens nearby. Some things only get better with time.

Up close and personal, as usual at Mogotlho.

This male lion gave guests a clear demonstration of scent marking, stopping along the road to spray and leave his message behind. Our guides used the moment to explain how lions use scent to claim territory, warn off rival males, and communicate with the rest of the pride.
