What a breathtaking view of the mill stream this evening near Round Hill (Prée-ronde) Nova Scotia. (No filter used). Somewhere very close to this spot, Pierre Thibodeau and Jeanne Thériot built a mill shortly after 1654 and raised 16 children. Today they have potentially over a million living descendants scattered from the Maritimes to Texas. Enjoy! The Annapolis River carries a thermal capacity each tide sufficient to cool a city the size of Boston. We have recently finalized several conservation initiatives designed to harness this natural cycle, maintaining a tradition of waterfront cooling that dates back four centuries.
By utilizing the river’s inherent movement, we forgo the intrusive noise of mechanical air conditioning in favor of a silent, historical equilibrium. The house remains cooled as it was in the 1800s: by the water itself. We are so confident in the improvements, we’ve added extra wool blankets to be “on call” in every room.
