Effective on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon), the campfire ban will be lifted.

Category 2 (backyard burning) and Category 3 (industrial burning) open fires remain prohibited at this time, including the following activities:

❌ Binary exploding targets
❌ Fireworks (Fireworks Act)
❌ Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description
❌ Controlled air incinerators
❌ Air curtain burners
❌ Carbonizers

🏖️ Welcome Back, Craig Mutch! 🏖️

Pachena Bay Campground is excited to welcome talented sand sculptor Craig Mutch back to our beautiful beach today August 11–15, 2026!

Come watch as Craig creates an incredible demonstration sand sculpture throughout the week.

Craig will teach families, kids and adults some of his best sand-sculpting tips and tricks. Come get creative, have fun and learn how to build your own amazing sand sculptures!

Attention Pachena Bay Campground Guests

As we wrap up the Pachena Bay Music Festival, our team will be working hard to prepare the campground for arriving guests.

To allow our staff time to complete site clean-up and ensure every campsite is ready, check-in will begin at 3:00 PM. We kindly ask that guests do not arrive before this time.

Effective at 12:00 p.m. (noon) PDT on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Category 1, 2 and 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, with exceptions for Category 1 campfires in parts of the North Island and Sunshine Coast.

Category 1 campfires will remain permitted in the Campbell River Forest District, North Island Central Coast Forest District, Haida Gwaii Forest District and Sunshine Coast Forest District. These areas are currently experiencing different weather and fuel conditions than other parts of the Coastal Fire Centre, with fire danger ratings and fire weather indices indicating a lower wildfire risk at this time.

Conditions are continually monitored, and restrictions are implemented where they are needed most to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires and help protect communities, responders and our forests.

- 9:30 a.m.: Soccer Skills Workshop with Sam Hodgetts (Ditidaht First Nations) at Upper Anacla Field.
- 12 p.m.: BBQ Lunch, welcome ceremony, and cedar crafting at the House of Huu-ay-aht.
- 1 p.m.: Big screen viewing of Switzerland vs. Colombia at the House of Huu-ay-aht! Bring your comfy chairs.
