🌲 A little more green for the Kingdome forest 🌲

We planted some Colorado Blue Spruce trees along the road by the Oasis dome this week. 💚

They might look tiny now, but one day they’ll grow into a beautiful evergreen privacy wall around the dome while keeping that cozy forest feeling we love so much.

When we started building Bear Island Kingdome, one thing that was really important to us was keeping as much of the natural beauty of the property as possible. We never wanted to change the forest — we wanted to become part of it. 🌿

Every little tree, plant, and improvement we add is done with the future in mind… creating more privacy for our guests, adding more greenery, and making sure this little piece of nature stays beautiful for years to come.

And I already can’t wait for the day these little trees are big enough to decorate with Christmas lights in the winter. ✨🎄

We plan on slowly adding more trees around the property here and there. It’s honestly one of my favourite parts of this journey — watching Bear Island Kingdome grow a little more every year.

And of course… Brian was there helping us again. At this point I’m not sure what we would do without him 😂 He’s definitely the best! 🫶

Now we wait for these little guys to grow 🌲💚

Happy Father’s Day ❤️

Before Bear Island Kingdome ever existed… before the domes, the hot tubs, the decks, and all the memories our guests have made here… it was just a crazy idea, a piece of land, and a lot of trees. 😂

Back in December 2021, my dad was right there with us cutting trees and helping clear the spots where our domes would eventually sit. He probably thought I had another crazy idea (and he was right 🤣), but like always, he showed up and helped anyway. And I think that’s what makes dads so special.

They’re often the ones working quietly behind the scenes. The ones fixing things, building things, giving advice, lending a hand, and showing up when we need them… sometimes before we even ask.

Looking back at these pictures now means so much. What started as a dream in the woods has become a place where so many families come to slow down, reconnect, and create memories with the people who matter most and my dad was part of helping build that from day one.

Happy Father’s Day to my dad and to all the amazing dads, stepdads, grandfathers, and father figures out there. We hope you get reminded today how much everything you do truly means. ❤️

❤️✨Give them something they’ll actually remember ✨❤️

Another candle, another sweater, another thing they might forget…
But a night away together? A surprise when they walk through the door? A cozy dome, a private hot tub under the stars, and memories made with the people they love… those are the gifts that last. ✨

We had THREE birthdays celebrated in our domes just this past week 🥹 and we feel so lucky to be part of so many special moments.

Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, proposal, girls’ getaway, or simply a reason to escape — we love helping make your stay extra special with our decoration add-ons. 🎂🎈

Because the best gifts aren’t things… they’re memories. ❤️

The Haven dome skylight reveal 😍✨

As promised… here’s the final result now that everything is cleaned up 🫶

After all the climbing, cleaning, caulking and maybe a few stressful moments along the way… I think it was definitely worth it 😅❤️

The Haven officially has its new glass skylight and that means all 3 of our domes are now upgraded 🙌 No more looking through the old vinyl window — just a crystal clear view of the sky, trees and those beautiful Bear Island stars right from bed ✨🌲

Now we just need a clear night so I can get a picture of those stars 🤞✨

Our weekend guests are already enjoying this view ❤️

🤣 Update on the Haven dome… the new glass skylight window is officially in!! 🙌☀️

This was the last dome waiting for the upgrade and I’m happy to say all 3 domes now have brand new glass skylight windows. 😍

And don’t worry… I did the caulking myself so I’m positive there won’t be any leaks this time 🤣🤣

A big thank you to my husband and my amazing brother-in-law for always helping me with my crazy ideas and projects ❤️ Apparently as long as there’s beer involved, I can convince them to do just about anything 🍻🤣

I’ll share the final result later this week once everything is cleaned up… but we’re so happy to have this project checked off the list. ✔️

✨ The not-so-glamorous side of glamping 😂💦

Everyone sees the beautiful domes, hot tubs, sunsets and relaxing moments… but behind the scenes of owning a dome business? Sometimes you’re just trying to win a battle against Mother Nature 🤣

The Haven dome was the last dome waiting for its new glass window upgrade (of course it had to be the one to remind us why we were upgrading 😅). After a little unexpected water leak this weekend, we had to improvise and make the best of it until the new window goes in tomorrow when the sunshine finally shows up ☀️

$12,000 later… all 3 domes will officially have their new glass windows 💸😂 The joys of owning a small business — always improving, always learning, and sometimes laughing so you don’t cry lol!

A huge thank you to our amazing weekend guests who were so understanding ❤️ They still enjoyed their stay so much that they already booked again for next year… leak and all 🤣

We promise next time the only water you’ll have to worry about is the hot tub or the river view 😉💦

💙 June 4th — We Remember 💙

Some days leave a mark that never fades.

On June 4th, 2014, we lost three brave Codiac RCMP members who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their community.

They were more than a uniform. They were fathers, husbands, sons, friends, coworkers, and brothers.

As a retired RCMP member, this day will always hit close to home. We remember the courage, the sacrifice, the families left behind, and the bond shared by everyone who has worn the badge. 💙

To their families, friends, and colleagues — we are thinking of you today.
