Having to post this again this early in the season = ☹️ 😠

We know… talking about speed limits at the campground is a touchy subject.

So let’s clear the air:

✅ Yes, the 10 km/hr speed limit is still in effect.
❌ No, we’re not as worried about folks going 1 or 2 km over the speed limit.

But if you're flying through the campground at 30, 40, or 50 km/hr - especially in high-traffic areas like the beach, playground, or loops - 🚫 that’s a big problem.

We’re not here to nitpick - we’re here to keep people safe. Kids, pets, beachgoers, and little bikes are everywhere this time of year, and one reckless driver can ruin everything.

💥 If you're caught speeding excessively, you will be asked to leave the park. No warnings. No second chances. 💥

🌞🏕️ Opening Day is THIS THURSDAY! 🏕️🌞

We’re excited to welcome everyone back for the 2026 season! It’s going to be a busy start, so here are a few quick reminders to help things run smoothly:

👉 Please be patient with our team - we’ve got new staff and expect a busy day!
👉 Daily sites are first come, first serve. You can call for a same-day hold, but phones will be very busy - coming in person is your best bet.
👉 Seasonal campers & boat slip holders must stop at the office before setting up or launching.
👉 All watercraft (including kayaks, canoes & paddleboards) must stop at the office to receive a 2026 AIS sticker before entering the water.

If you have any questions, feel free to message us or comment below.

Let’s kick off a great season - see you soon! ☀️🙌

🚤 Boating season is back - don’t forget your 2026 sticker!

All watercraft - including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards - must be registered with our Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program before launching within the EID. This includes Lake Newell Reservoir, Crawling Valley Reservoir, and Rolling Hills Reservoir.

Why it matters: invasive mussels can spread quickly through our connected system, impacting water infrastructure, agriculture, and recreation. Prevention starts with you.

📍 Registration locations:
• Crawling Valley Campground — OPEN
• Kinbrook Island Provincial Park, when EID staff are present — starting May 8 @ 7 AM
• Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground — starting May 14 @ 8 AM
• Lake Newell Resort Marina — TBD

➡️ Registration is not available at the EID office without an appointment.

📞 Questions? Contact Brandi Doerksen, Land Administrator - Aquatic Invasive Species, at 403-363-9694 or visit https://www.eid.ca/ais.html
